ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Julia. I come from a little village in Poland where folk culture is very rich and plays huge part in people's lives up to these days.

A far as can remember I was surrounded by crafty women in my family. My grandmother did crochet, from clothes to table covers and pillow cases. My godmother is a knit queen, she does variety of knitwear for anyone, nowadays mostly for kids. Two of my aunts are dressmakers, my mama was in a knitwear business for a few years, then just in her spare time she would make me jumper or two, I actually still have got one! I remember when I was a little girl all of them gathered in our house and knit while sharing their struggles.

I've never mastered any of those crafts, although I can do magic with needle and thread. I am positive though that all this gave base of what interests me these days.

Even though fashion and creativity was always my destiny I have chosen different paths over the years. Back then only "real professions" mattered and this is where I ended up- studying Russian language to become a teacher. Fortunately I soon realised that this is not what I want, left my home country and moved to England. Still having those professions in mind I studied to become an accountant and this is where I am up to date.

Only recently my life reached turning point. I have finally found my passion back. I have lost it for many reasons, but now in my thirties I got it back.

Fashion and creativity was always in my blood. Today I have to add to the list styling, beauty, photography and travel. So there you have it- all me. 

In here on my blog I want to share this part of my life because it's my very own happy place. I think you might like it too.

Cześć! Mam na imię Julia. Pochodzę z Kurpi Zielonych, gdzie kultura folklorystyczna odgrywa ogromną rolę w życiu lokalnych mieszkańców. 

Wychowałam się pośród wielu utalentowanych kobiet. Moja babcia była mistrzynią szydełkowania, moja mama chrzestna jest królową robótek na drutach- potrafi wyczarować na nich wszystko, aczkolwiek dzisiaj skupia się na garderobie dla najmłodszych.

Dwie moje ciocie są krawcowymi, moja mama jest dziewiarką z zawodu. Wiele lat pracowała w lokalnym zakładzie dziewiarskim, obecnie już tyko w wolnych chwilach robi na drutach. Do tej pory mam jeden ze swetrów który dla mnie zrobiła.

Pamiętam dobrze ten obraz z dzieciństwa kiedy wszystkie kobiety spotykały się wieczorami i robiąc na drutach dyskutowały o życiu.

Niestety sama nigdy nie opanowałam żadnej z tych umiejętności, chociaż potrafię zdziałać cuda igłą i nitką. Jestem pewna, że to wszystko dało podstawę moim zainteresowaniom dzisiaj.

Fakt, że należałam do kreatywnych osób był nieważny w czasach mojej edukacji. Zdobycie wyższego wykształcenia było stawiane na pierwszym miejscu, więc zaczęłam studiować język rosyjski. Jednak po roku, zdałam sobie sprawę że to nie dla mnie i postanowiłam wyjechać z Polski. W UK, gdzie mieszkam do dzisiaj, studiowałam księgowość. 

Dzisiaj jako świadoma trzydziestka (no może starsza trzydziestka) wiem co mnie kręci. Moda, uroda, fotografia oraz podróże to wszystko co kocham. 

Na blogu chcę się dzielić tą częścią mojego życia. Jest to moje własne "happy place", ale myślę że Wam też się spodoba.
